Welcome!

My name is Alicia, and I am completing my Community Arts Masters in Education at Lesley University. I also work at the Norman Rockwell Museum, part time with Admissions and school group tours.

The results of my Norman Rockwell PhotoVoice project lay here!

"PhotoVoice" can be defined generally as a message communicated through photographs. In this project, I was the photographer while visitors to the Norman Rockwell Museum were the subjects. Each group of subjects created a tableau (posing as) one of scenes in Norman Rockwell’s paintings. This project transfers a two dimensional painting into a three dimensional space, and then back to a two dimensional photograph. (Not to mention its dramatic aspects are lots of fun!) It also brings community members together in a shared, artistic space, to create a visual and physical dialogue about Norman Rockwell's illustrations and fascination with "the everyday (person)."

(Notes: None of this work is being done for profit, and so all of the images are intended for personal and project use only.

All image file sources came from NRM's ProjectNORMAN digital database.

In the photo release form I made out for the participants, I told participants I would not be altering their photos in any way. However, I received many requests to add the Saturday Evening Post mast-head or to make other color alterations, etc. All of my alterations here reflected the participants' wishes, and my original photo work, etc. is also posted.)

I encourage you to look through these photographs, and to email me your own Norman Rockwell PhotoVoice images and/or comments!

Thank you so much for your support!
